Your Coffee Recipe
Coffee is one of life’s greatest pleasures. If you drink it often, here’s a few ingredients (and one recipe) that can help you upgrade your morning joe.
Try Adding Turmeric
The main ingredient in turmeric that gives it its yellow color is curcumin, a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. Some research indicates that curcumin may be as powerful as some anti-inflammatory drugs. The turmeric spice in your cupboard won’t give you the benefit. You’ll need a turmeric capsule because it has a much higher concentration of curcumin.
Add a Pinch of Black Pepper
It may seem like an odd combination, but consuming black pepper with turmeric improves your body’s absorption of curcumin by 2000%.
Turn to Cinnamon
You’ve always had this effective antioxidant in your spice cabinet. Not only does cinnamon have anti-inflammatory properties, research indicates it may also improve your cholesterol levels.
You can use any of these ingredients at any time to upgrade your coffee. But let’s put them all together in in one of our favorite Santo Remedio Recipes:
Leche Dorada—“Golden Milk”
2 cups of almond milk
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
3 capsules of turmeric powder
Sprinkle of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger (optional)
Mix well all of the ingredients and add to hot or iced coffee.
Enjoy this delicious and nutritious boost!
