The Maintenance phase isn’t a restrictive eating plan. Why? Because carbohydrates, proteins, and fats all offer a vital combination of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and plant chemicals to feed our brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, and skin. Your diet will consist of roughly 40% carbohydrates from vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, 30% protein from lean sources, and 30% healthy fats.
There’s an easy-to-follow structure as well, helping with portion control. One protein shake per day, with two meals and two snacks. We’ve created the 9 Entalla Healthy Maintenance Principles as well to help you maintain your weight wins (see below). Review them weekly to stay on track.
1. Weight Check In: Weigh yourself at least once a week and keep a log.
2. Physical Activity: Exercise daily with 30 minutes of cardio and 10-15k steps. Target a calorie burn from exercise of 1750 calories per week = 250 calories per day.
3. Portion Control: Follow the Entalla Lifestyle 1-2-2 method in meal planning.
4. Eat Clean: Eat whole foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and healthy fats with the help of the daily smart food bank.
5. Stress Alert: Adopt a stress relief tool to help deal with emotional eating triggers.
6. Community Support: Stay connected to the vibrant Entalla community and the dedicated support team.
7. Supplement Smart: Follow up with a multivitamin, probiotic, calcium supplement and fiber supplement, plus any others that you find helpful.
8. Rest & Relax: Sleep 7-8 hours per day and meditate 5-10 minutes daily.
9. Hydrate: Drink sufficient water. Ideally drink your weight divided in half in ounces each day.
